I realize I'm a little late to the party, but I thought I would chime in with my $0.02. Get your girlfriend hooked up with a local chapter of Becoming an Outdoors Woman (usually offered through the state wildlife department) or Women in the Outdoors (through the National Wild Turkey Federation). Re: Got a BIG problem and need to nip it in the bud

What about the Derby dog that ate a quail in a brace?? :) That happened to me this weekend. He caught the quail about 100-200 yards in front of me and was carrying it around for about 5 minutes, then simply ate it. The judge and I got a little laugh. Yeah, that happened to you and me both last week...

She's actually in an L-shaped dog run that's about about 6' x 15' in both directions. It's at the corner of the house, so two of the "walls" are actually the exterior walls of the house, two more sides are the 6' cedar fencing, and then the yard side has the 4' fence. Putting a top on it isn't reall...

Okay, after doing some more reading, it appears Cat is, in fact, not going to be able to compete next week. Bummer. :(

I've got Catherine registered for the Brittany Club field trial next Saturday, and this evening I noticed her vulva is very swollen, and she's just starting to spot. Is this going to put us out of contention for next week, or should she be through the critical part by then? This is her first heat cy...

Re: Thoughts on underground electronic fences?

We had one for our Airedale years ago, and it worked okay. The only problem was that when there was something (usually a stray cat) that he really wanted to chase, he would bust through the barrier and endure the shock (if he noticed it at all because he was so focused on the chase), but then once h...

I was at my local Costco here in So. California yesterday and found Kirkland Chicken/rice and Lamb/rice had gone up to $22.99 for 40#. I compared the ingredients of the Chicken/rice and it is very close to the Diamond Naturals chicken/rice that is $27.99 and I have to drive further to get the Diamo...

Concealed weapons are overrated... until you need one. Then they are invaluable. I'd rather be in the realm of overrated than in the realm of the dead. It would be possible to distract the thug at the ATM just long enough to pull your own weapon. That possibility negates any sense that being able to...

Lori, to answer your question...I'm not sure. I don't use a "7-way" Vaccine. I think that a 7-way probably does have Lepto and Corona Virus in it in addition the ...

He shouldn't go wrong with either of those. I personally prefer the Beretta over the Benelli, but they are similar enough that it shouldn't make a huge difference. I own both a 391 in 20 ga. and a 3901 in 12 ga. and they are outstanding guns.

Can any of you other folks in Utah recommend some places to potentially run into some wild birds? My Britt is 4 months old and I'm interested in taking her out in the field and having some fun, but I'm not sure where to go. I live in the Salt Lake area, but don't mind driving a little.
