good e-collar for short range 'yard training'
Hi, Are there good less expensive options for shorter range e-collars for more 'yard training' use??? Walmart carries one for $85 or so but had terrible reviews.... Also... can somebody recommend a remotely activated beeper collar that doesn't have e-training capabilities.... just a remotely activat...

That sounds suspiciously like training Ray! But good advice. Thank ya for that. But how does that reduce range? What if she is out of sigh and out of bell range, up ahead? One thing you mentioned... regarding seeing her flush a bird and bringing her back, etc. Usually, she is far enough away, and it such heavy cover, that I could never get to her in time to make that correction!

Ruff.... Yeah... Wisconsin grouse woods. I consider her out of comfortable range when I no longer hear her bell and she can't find me when I whistle. I was sitting in my tree stand near on old apple orchard this morning and grouse were in the apple trees all around me. Well I'm definitely in the crowd that runs to the dog when the beeper goes off. But if I sneak through 75-100 yards of tag alder brush I'm never going to get there! All the same, I've never really thought about being stealthy coming up to my dog, but maybe it would help settle my nerves so I can act...

Thanks a bunch!
