Hello friends... It has been too long since my last post. I've been faithfully reading and checking the forum though. Great as always. I have a friend looking for a Vizsla for his family. My dog is out of Nevene Kennels and has a lot of the dogs mentioned above. I asked for similar advice over 5 years ago and got great responses about some of the same lines---seems to me that great dogs (or lines) are still being mixed in by top breeders. I don't know if Gene Salmons is still breedin...

I don't think anyone is telling you you don't know enough. I'm not knowledgeable at all with bird dog pedigrees but I don't think you have to know much of anything to get an eager male (aren't we all?) to breed a bitch in heat. I DO think people were trying to be helpful about the realities of the m...

My dog 'lives' without a vest...But she hunts with the Cabela's skid plate on. It saves an incredible amount of scrapes, cuts, and blood and has lasted nearly 3 years. Never any armpit irritation---as far as I can tell, it has no insulation properties. My 40 lb Brit fits nicely into the Medium---I w...

I agree...everyone should own whichever breed that they choose. A breed's rarity doesn't necessarily identify its owner as 'not a hunter' or not serious about loving hunting. Rather shortsighted to insinuate (or outright state in some cases) otherwise. Ultimately, that is what makes this sport great...
