Cheek Recoil
My wife bought a Benelli Montefeltro youth 20Ga and shot it for the first time last weekend. She is small and it seems the gun fits her fairly well as she can shoulder it easily and she broke many more clays than she missed. Overall, I am impressed with how well she shoots given her inexperience wit...

What a sad situation. I grew up raising club lambs. Now, all us kids are grown but my parents still raise show lambs that they sell throughout the midwest for county/state fairs. I know how hard you have worked to build a breeding program that works. Folks here know well how tough it is to win a sta...

Redneck, If you need the training help and get the results you are looking for, it will be money well spent. Without spending some money on professional training my dog and I would be in a mess. Gary, Sammy was at Pete's twice for two months each time. He's back there now. Each time he came home he did a thorough survey of the entire house stopping to check out anything that was different (eg. new carved duck above fireplace). Then it was as if he never left. GSPVIZ,
Where will you buy chuckars and pheasants? I thought about doing the same thing last fall but everyone I called wasn't willing to part with anything but quail. Maybe they were holding out until they knew they could meet their own demands and those of the local preserves.

Recommendation for NE grouse/woodcock trip?
I'm already thinking about a grouse/woodcock trip somewhere in the northeast next fall. Somewhere in NY, VT, NH, ME where we can rent a cabin and hunt over lots of land. I did some searching online and realized I would probably find someone here who has a great rental they can recommend. Thanks in a...

GSPVIZ, Sounds to me like you are OK. As long as she's busy and has no problem with the sudden crack of a shot, she'll likely be fine. Just keep an eye on her when the shooting happens. VIZ, I have never hunted Glassboro. If you can get out on Monday, you might try Medford WMA adjacent to the south side of the Setter Club. Its small as WMAs go but a good number of quail make it onto the WMA during a field trial and they are fair game for hunters. Who knows, you could also get some ...
