1100's are good guns, dads is reliable but like chaingang said a few jamming issues, but its an older gun too, remington 1187 is a good autoloader too, alot like the 1100's, i duck hunt with a stoeger m2000 and i love it, it has a little trouble cycling low brass, but 3" shells never a problem, also...

i have a thing for 24" barrels, just feels like i can swing and keep a beed on my target better, but when my target is farther out i have to have more range than a 24" can offer, i have to 26" barrels and they pack all the range i need especially w/ 3" shells, i cant tell much of a range difference ...

i have never had a gun rust that bad but to help prevent in the future i use this stuff in a spray can called reel magic or real magic cant remember how its spelled. it comes in a little blue can with a white top, i spray my guns before i take them out and when i get back and it's worked on my guns ...

i bought a stoeger m2000 about 2 weeks ago and absoutly love it. breeze to clean shoots as fast as you can pull the trigger, i bought it for primarly waterfowl and a little turkey and quail, got it rite after waterfowl season so i havent got to use it yet, but its a great gun.

i just bought one a week ago from today and my only problem is that i didnt buy one sooner, i love the inertia recoil, it is a breeze to clean, the whole gun comes apart with the pull of two pins, the action takes a little bit to break in but it will cycle as fast as you can pull the trigger.

the winchester model 1300 pump action is a good choice, it was my very first shotgun, got it about 4 years ago when i was 11, and its never gave me a minutes trouble, it comes with modified, improved cyl. and full chokes and its chambered for 2 3/4" and 3" shells so you can hunt anything from quail ...

like tdhusker said they are very durable, my dad has thrown his over a cliff (not intentionally) but was lucky enough to find it and it still dosent have a problem, not a scratch on it.

if you are not on a tight budget a ruger red label is an excellent gun, my dad has one and i shoot it alot, love the feel of it and is just a great gun, but is not cheap by any means.

remington or stoeger?

i am looking for a new autoloading shotgun, on a tight budget so the remington spf453 and stoeger m2000 looks good, im leaning more towards the stoeger, anyone have any sudgestions?
