moose, when i open my own bar you can bring your dogs, all of them, right on in. and i think i'll even give bird dogs a discount. Em be careful posting mug shots like that around here. Never know who might be looking for J. You know opening a bar would not be a money making venture when your two bi...

for some reason, i find myself with an itch to start duck hunting. i have no idea why. i have only been once before, with a freind, but i just tagged along and watched- no shooting. anyway, i live between the Illinois and Mississippi rivers, so there should be some places to go. But is it reasonabl...

That Cash sure is a good looking boy. Glad that first big hunt went well. Wish I could get Mae out for an adventure like that this fall. If only the grasslands weren't 20hrs away. They sure look alike. Bruce sure did spoil them they all love to lay on their backs on the couch. I sure hope to make it...

You can get a Remmington 11-87 12ga semi auto. If you are looking for a 12ga they are a dime a dozen on www.gunbroker.com Find one you like in your area or being shipped by and FFL and have it shipped to an FFL in your town. This will enable you to get one that is a couple years old before they stop...

Im willing to travel to NC or GA don't think we have anything to speak of here in SC really. Don't know if my pup will be ready but her seeing some wild birds would be great for her and who knows maybe she will hold a few to be shot.

I have a Permatrack and am very happy with it. Glides very well through the brush and is very durable and easy to clean when I get done. Contest going on right now for one on this site.

Congrats that is wonderful to hear. It is a wonderful thing to watch when these pups start doing what they have been bred to do. Sure makes for a proud papa too. Especially when the pup can hunt that hard and you can come home and they are playing or napping with the family.

Re: frozen bird VS fresh killed bird....
I agree try varying degrees of frozen or what about killing a bird one day, refrigerate overnight and then see if that helps. Put the bird in a ziplock then a grocery bag and hope the wife doesn't find it before you take it out to use it. My dog doesn't really like the frozen ones but wants t...

Re: New launcher.... anybody seen one of these?
I ordered 3 of these launchers along with a lot of others at the introductory price. I have no complaints whatsoever about how this has worked out. I knew from the beginning that there was a very high possibility of delays. We ordered a product that had working prototypes but had not had a first pro...

I read a few books on training before I got my puppy, but the easiest way I felt to learn proper training techniques is through a video or DVD. I bought the perfect start/finish DVD set. Yes the cost some money upfront but with the amount of information in them they are well worth it. They go step b...

Alright, I have a 20-gauge with gold engraved "Ducks Unlimited" and a duck head engraved on the barrel. The problem...the shotgun is too small. The barrel, the stock...everything. So I'm looking to purchase a new shotgun. Is there any particular shotgun (either 20 or 12 ga) that anyone suggests? (I...

If any of you guys have and Academy Sports in your area you might want to check these out. I was first introduced to the Turk guns when I bought a DeHann (Huglu) U2 a few years back in 20ga O/U w/extractors. Paid about $700 for it and it has been an exceptional field gun. It has matte barrels and n...

I am looking at putting some graphics on an old truck of mine and making it into a company kennel truck. Quail used for Training question
When using quail to train does anyone keep them in a Johnny house where they live and take them to the field in a recall pen, use some of the birds and let them recall to that pen or will that not work? In the past anytime we used quail to train it was to shoot so we had no intentions on bringing th...

Why not try a few out and look at many of the options and buy the one best for you to use and then get a used gun for friends to use or to have as a back up. I just bought a Stevens SXS a few weeks ago off of gunbroker.com for $300 in really good condition, but Im not going to get upset over a scrat...
