Around here all the old timers would say, "It will make sombody a nice grouse dog" when they wash it out for not having what it takes to make a top notch quail dog. I guess I am old school and don't want to give myself and excuse for getting lazy. I run bells on my dogs and haven't let the temptation of a tracker or Garmin win me over yet. Been reading these trialing posts for awhile, the one thing they all have in common is 90% of all of them are talking about speed and endurance that separate the top from the also ran, nothing about nose. What historical *facts*? You've got nothing to base your claim on... For example, the national championship. The dog has to qualify in AA events. So, how does a dog that wins an AA stake in a NC qualifier get to be "middle of the road"? Inquiring minds want to know. Put up or shut up. The historica...

Tommyboy, I bet if you look at the pedigree of almost any good dog no matter where it came from you will see a dogs name that has been trialed at some point and time. Just a little advice form and old guy that's been up and down the road " narrow mindedness isn't a handicap unless you make it one"
