Re: What are you thoughts about the Sport Dog 1800?

I have the 1850 w beeper and run it on my lab and gsp. Happy with it, the transmitter started acting up and the customer service was great. They sent me a new transmitter immediately.

Re: pheasant loads

I shoot the same thing muskmelon, Federal copper plated 4,5 or 6 the PF box and am very happy with them. My SBE loves em. Don't show up to hunt with me with some low brass 7.5s. My poor dogs will be chasing your cripples all day long.

Re: One more Kansas thread

What is the rule now with nonresident Kansas permits. Used to be if you bought it after Dec 1 or something it was good for the next year. Is that still the case?

I will agree their customer service is awesome. Seems my momentary button is not working on my 1850, same thing, we will get a new transmitter out right away.

Re: johnny house

That is where I saw it also but decided I wanted something bigger to hold more birds. This is what I am using for my pigeons. I have V perches, nesting boxes, bobs and an aviary all on it now, and 35 pigeons in it. Hopefully to be a lot less real soon when I start using some. Some of my buddies thou...

johnny house

I took an old round metal fuel barrel and turned it into my johnny house. Should hold 15 or so birds I would think. The feeder is designed from the less mess system and the waterer is handy because I have a couple water jugs with nipples and so I can just swap out jugs every few days or however long...

Nipple waterer height

I purchased some of those nipple waterers from Farmtek. Anyone have a certain height to set them to for quail or pigeons? Thanks

Re: What are you using to feed/water your birds?

Take a look at Foyspigeonsupplies.com. They have a lot of great feeders and waterers that are bullet shaped or whatever to keep the birds from soiling their food and water. I did get some of those no drip nipples from Farmtek and just put one into an orange juice jug. I am going to see how it works ...

Re: flying pigeons

I actually put the food down and then set her out. I figured that way she knows the food is there and really wants to get back. I have been leaving 2 bobs up so she kind fits in between, she has been out 3 times in the last week and back in within 15 minutes. I turned a different one loose one pm an...

Re: flying pigeons

Flew my hen that hatched a couple little ones last night. I caught her and put her through the bobs, then I caught her again and released her through the bobs. She only flew to the top of the coop and then to the side like let me back in. She then went around back and came right back in so actually ...

Re: WHAT DO PIGEONS EAT

I got a bag of scratch grains, cracked corn, milo and oats, the milo is what they eat first. They will leave the cracked corn and I believe I read on here that the cracked corn is hard on their gums or something. Next bag I get will be all milo probably. I did grab a cup of finer gravel and mixed it...

Explain to me what or where I can get pigeon grit. I was going to stop and get a bag of milo from the local COOP, but he sure doesn't carry pigeon grit.

Here is my bird pen that I worked on over the weekend. 3000 gallon capacity, about 9' tall and 8' diameter. I have not done anything with the interior yet, or put in the trap door. I am open to suggestions. I thought about dividing it a little and having some quail in there as well. I will need to g...

I built my framework out of 2x4s and attached them to the top pipe on the kennel with the same strap that you use to attach the chainlink to a tensioning strap and a lag bolt into the 2x4. Then I used the colored tin like a Morton or Astro or Cleary building uses, but I got mine at Menards. It is go...
