Re: Proper Weight

I hate the comment, "you don't feed your dog enough, you can see his ribs". For the most part he is basically free fed a high quality food. There are times when he looks especially lean when we are hunting in the fall. I just look at the condition of the dogs muscles, when he sits and you look at hi...

Re: First Major Accident

I have no doubt he will make a full recovery. After the vet cleaned it all up yesterday it looked so much better. Swelling has gone down considerably and no sign of a limp. Unfortunately I have to leave for a week and a half, but expect him to be almost healed by the time I get back at the rate he s...

They are going to clean up the wound and I take him back Thursday to have the drain removed. Hopefully can get him to relax eno...

When I had them they easily handled the cold. Around here it is often-30 celcius. I can remember a winter of 30 day where is never got above -30 and they were wine. As long as they had a palce to get off of the snow and out of the wind.

I have a 6 month old pup that seems to be drinking a lot of water, it's not really the volume that concerns me so much but how quick she drinks it. If there is water there she will drink it all. Re: "Curing" a deer head?

Depends what you mean by 6 pointer. Around here (Canada) we typically judge deer by one horn only, so a 6 pointer would typically have 12 points, or we'd say 5 by 4 , or 3 pointer for a deer with 6 points ect. It is usually when we meet up with an American hunter that they refer to a deer by countin...

I ended up going with the Irish Setter boots. I liked a couple of the extra features they have. Really like the fact that they have laces, you can get them to fit better, and they have a zippered cover that goes over them so they don't come untied and stay burr and debris free. I have had them out f...
