Thanks Ezzy. For some reason I thought there might be other health risks involved depending on their age. If it's just a matter of needing time to recover, I'll probably just do it after the season's over......

My GSP is ~ 4.5 years old and had a litter of pups in June. We will breed the pup down the road but we won't be having any more litters with the dam. So, when would be the best time to spay her?

My first GSP had a very thin coat so I got a fleece vest for her to wear in between fields. It wouldn't work for hunting but sure worked great in between and even at home when it was REALLY cold out.

Catching them would definitely not be good. My othe option would be to just buy a few and dizzy 'em and plant them and come in x-wind with my GSP on a check cord.

For the most part, our dogs get along very well but every once in awhile our young female will get a little snotty with the old female and will growl and show signs of dominance. It usually happens around the food/water bowls but when I take the young one running, she'll will occassionally get growl...
