Touching Tribute to a Dog

Back in 1981, legendary actor James “Jimmy” Stewart, the star of “It's a Wonderful Life” and too many other classics to list here, went on “The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson” to share his hobby: poetry. The piece that he read was titled "I’ll Never Forget a Dog Named Beau" about Stewart’s golden r...

Re: Death of a dog

Here's a good one - Author unknown. A man was riding his horse down a road, his dog padding along by their side. The man was enjoying the scenery, when it suddenly occurred to him that he was dead. He remembered dying, and that his horse and dog had been dead for years. He wondered where the road wa...

Your coming at a great time - the snow might not be totally gone, but it'll be definitely on it's way out (well, at least in Anchorage). Don't forget to add fishing to your itinerary! If you need further info, let me know.

@ Karen - Yes, it keeps your dog away from the spokes. I've been doing the Springer with my Spaniels for about two years now - works great. I do use the harness, but that's a personal preference as a collar would work ok too. The only problem I had with it is that when my dog jumped a puddle sideway...

I agree with Rockllews & Bobman that a dog park might not be in the best interest for the pup at this time. I also thought it would draw my shy one out of her shell - wrong! She got swarmed by HUGE Labs & Huskies that seemed to sense she was a soft dog & targeted her. We never went back & instead fo...

If you don't want to use NO, keep a 50' long 1/8" thick nylon cc on the dog. Throw the bumper or bird. Keep the slack out of the line when the dog picks up the bumper and starts in. When it starts to shake the object, command HERE and give a short, sharp tug on the cc. That was without using a coll...
