I have always used 20ga imp cyl with 7.5 shot on phez and quail and have never had a problem, but have no experience with skeet chokes. Thx for the replies.

I am of the opinion that as long as a dog has room to climb in, turn around and lay down, he has plenty of room. Living in TN, I travel further than I used to with the dogs. They make the trip from TN to KS just fine. I try not to go more than 4 hrs before I let them out to stretch.

I would try getting ahold of some of the southern plantation quail hunting outfitters. A lot of the ones I have seen on TV train their dogs to flush on command to get the pen raised quail to fly. Makes it kinda resemble a wild quail flush and makes it pretty safe.

Jess, I didn't realize you guys had one that close. I was in Tennessee when they hit and all the weather channel was talking about was the 1 that hit the farm in Conway Springs and went south of the airport to Oaklawn.
