I to have seen dogs do that strange smile thing, one Lab would do it every time it saw me then put its head on my lap to get its ears scratched.

About 20 miles north, today we are getting what Buffalo got yesterday just hoping it moves through faster than it did down there.

It looks like grouse and deer hunting is going to be temporary or maybe permanently over with this year in this part of NY. Considering we have 6 to 7 ft. of snow in some places with a lot more to come by this weekend. How is the rest of the state doing?

You did good for around this part of the state. Grouse hunting is not what it used to be. I hear there are some decent hunting around the Catskills but I have never hunted there, just too far for me to drive!

Go to YouTube and search Bird Dogs Afield with Paul Fuller or try Wing Shooting USA with Scott Linden or just search bird hunting you should get lots of hits.

You’re asking a very personal question only you can answer. Since you already have a pump shotgun I would look into a Benelli Ultra-light in 20ga. Or a Beretta o/u if you feel like trying your hand at a double.

I would go with some type of 0-turn mower a lot faster than a tractor.
