Re: Pointer Puppy Question...
A little pup may have some troubles adjusting to the cold temps, They are smart and it appears our dog likes being inside. I would take it outside and play with it. If its not too cold, I would put it in your kennel and it will get used to it. Do you have any photos of your pup? Here is a picture o...

Pointer Puppy Question...
The new pointer pup (11 weeks) we got is getting acclimated to her new home pretty well. The only issue we have with her is she hates the cold. Anything below about 45 degrees her tail goes between the legs, she wines and she will run to the door to get back in the house, she won't even take a walk ...

Re: New Guy with a Question
First, I've really enjoyed what I've read here and look forward to discussing bird dogs with others. My situation is that I have a 11 year old GSP that is dead steady all day on point, and retrieves perfectly to hand. She's not steady to wing, but as a pheasant hunter that doesn't so much bother me...

Good luck finding him...have you called all the animal controls in the area? Police Stations? Fire Departments? Started out with Hunt Tests moved to Walking Trials, now hooked on Horseback Trials. I also run my setter in UFTA sometimes... Keep in mind a good field trial horse can run anywhere from $2500-$5000. Anything less and you are probably buying either a young horse or someone elses problem. Spin their head in a circle for 30 seconds and put them in the cover. They will be dizzied for a few minutes...so give them a few before you bring the dog in so they will fly away. Get a recall pen if you want to get them back. It may take a day for them to recall, but if there are a couple of males...
