I would suggest going out to the different trials and watching some to help make up your mind. In Georgia there is a trial somewhere just about every weekend until March.

At 25 days, you should at a minimum hear heart beats and see some pups. You may not be able to count all of them, an Xray is much better for this later on. If you saw circles, there is a good chance you have pups, but you should have heard the hearts beating...

I have seen a bunch of competitive short tailed dogs in AKC and haven't seen many in any of the American Field Trials except for the GSP only trials.
