here is a suggestion......................move the trial back up north to some real chukar habitat, Nevada, Oregon, Idaho and move the date into September

Neil before you go assuming anything...............

Know that there are times where even good dogs don't have a worthy performance for even placing 1, 2, or 3.

Stating that that is an "AKC thing" is BS and you of all people should know that. Saying such comes across as you dumbing down AKC dogs.

From what I heard there was really high winds making for poor scenting conditions. Dogs either went birdless or had poor bird work and/or just didnt apply themselves. Just a bunch of bad luck all around.

how do you keep the dog going in a straight line? when i walk mine they go from side to side. i would be afraid of roading them with a bike or something just for that reason. Yes John it works awesome. Especially if you can vary uphill and down hill. With these two I have had top speeds of 25 mph according to GPS with an average speed of 12-13 mph. I don't think feet toughness has anything to do with a breed but dogs within that breed. Some dogs just don't have good feet. I consider my dogs to have good feet (GSP's) but even they will still tear up their feet. If your buddy is hunting 25 days a month that in its self might be more of the probl...
