Re: 1st gundog - pros and cons of free feeding?

I don't understand the hateful thoughts to free feeding and overweightness as I have done both and if anything I want to add poundage to a couple of my dogs and I am currently free-feeding daily and maybe i'm just lucky but I don't see a big difference with either method (at least with my dogs) I ha...

Re: vizsla pedigree

Thanks Jeff Thats the information I was looking for. I was leaning towards spaying him anyway as he is about the right age for that. Like I said the previous owner had planned to breed him so I was just a little curious as to what I had before I got him snipped.

vizsla pedigree

I just obtained an almost 2 yr old intact vizsla whom the previous owner had planned to breed and although some of the behaviors of an intact male at that age are quite undesirable I'd like to know what I have before he gets snipped so if anyone can tell me what I got here I would appreciate it. Re: first gun dog! Nine Mo. Old Field Springer - too shy/timid?

I got a 5 year old chesapeake bay retriever off craigslist last fall, his first day in my home when i reached for the remote on the coffee table he shot off the couch and cowered in a spare bedroom. I called him back on the couch and he was still pretty jumpy for quite awhile but after several weeks...

A few winters ago on a really cold weekend day my old dog Poppy was shivering and looking pitiful at the kitchen door. way smaller worries on bloat, maybe more worries on overweight but i never found that to be the case. but every dog is definately different and older well established dogs do VERY well on free feeding.
