Have used Preventic collars the past two years. Used Frontline for years, applied year round, and still ended up treating Lyme, Ehrlichia and Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever. Might have to give the tags a try.

Could be a stage, or "fear period". Some puppies seem to have wider swings others go through them and are barely noticeable. From what I am reading the dog went to a trainer for field work not basic obedience or manors. Sounds like he is craving attention but has had no training on how to control himself. Find an obedience class and take the dog yourself, you will both learn a lot.

search elbow hygroma. When mine had this my vet drew a little fluid to test but when they found no problems they recommended not draining them. Each time you drain you are increasing the risk of introducing infection and they will refill anyway. If this is what it is, it will eventually go away.

I also feed Performance to puppies. Only time I feed puppy is when I get free bags and then I mix it with Performance.
My dogs have done very well on Loyall and fed a PPP/Loyall mix for a long time but for some reason it has been hard very to find around here so have gone back to PPP.

Our dogs were fed table scraps and dog chow. We were required to eat a bite of everything served for dinner so would sneak the the yucky stuff under the table to the dog. My grandfather fed his farm dogs scraps and the hunting dogs were fed hog chow.

A friend's Weim has a large V shaped notch out of his ear from an alligator snapping turtle they ran into along the MO river. The alligator snappers get big and mean but rarely see them around ponds. Never had a problem with the other types of water turtles we see around ponds.
