Brittany question - grouse lines
What bloodline/s would you pursue if you were a dedicated grouse hunter? ruffed and blues in the thick brush, need lot's of nose and nose to spare. I also hunt other birds, but the grouse is in my back yard and it's shaping up to be good. I have to travel for other birds so they get seen less, but I...

I am so sorry to hear about your dear Libby. This little dog passed away 6/19/14, I stopped updating this thread a while ago but the medical conditions were never truly over. Hey quick question if this warrants a suture Dog got a stick on her inner thigh and it tore the skin in a < shape with each side 1.5 inches by 1.5 inches. No muscle or deeper tissue damage just caught the skin and ripped it. I washed out the dirt and junk, but didn't have a needle or staple gun to s...

Re: wants to run away with bird in mouth
I wanted to build bird drive, she's 3 now and hasn't had much for birds
also wanted to work on FF, I FF'd her up to the point of frozen birds, she does great until she gets a flapping pigeon in her mouth then she disobeys
so I wanted to know if I should enforce with Ecollar

I don't like the show, looks to me like a couple predators picking on our elderly - who's kids abandoned them and their familys history, story and lifestyle is about to go away forever. they offer them a pittance, then clean up the item and use their show to sell it more than they'd ever be able to ...

Pigeon taken out by Falcon
I clipped the wing of a pigeon, but didn't get enough clipped as it was able to make it a roof nearby. I was getting a ladder to go fetch it but then a falcon swooped down and nailed that pigeon then flew off with it. I got to watch the whole thing. Soon as the falcon got in the air here comes a bal...

seems like an expensive option, but nice.
I could use one of those transport cages, I was planning on just using a couple old wire cages. I like the lower height of the transport cage, keep them from jumping and flapping.

I've used BB guns too, on the farm with strange dogs and I've shot cows or bulls (shot a bull one time and it tore the heck out the feeder - stupid kid) My problem with it on a bird dog is the association of the "gun" with "pain" the dog can hear the report of the bb gun, probably knows it came from...
