Re: DALMATIAN FOR GUN DOG?
If you gently lift the skin between the back leg and the flank the dog will drop whatever is in its mouth for you. This way you can give your drop it command followed by a quick correction without having to put your face to close to a dogs face.

I use to live in long beach (the bad part) and we had our pups out and about EVERYWHERE we went. Long Beach cant be cleaner than Los Angeles. The dogs never got sick and they got a lot of socialization. I would question your vet on what he means by not letting your dog outside. Sounds like crazy tal...

I have a few friends who have pointing labs and they are both great dogs. Will hold a point just as long as any pointer, but they dont have the range. Do you have an auto launcher with remote? If so, that is a great tool for a dog that might bust birds or be unsteady on point. If you see your dog catch scent-- you pop the bird. If your dog goes on point and then starts to move, creep, etc--you pop the bird. Essentially the bird teaches the dog, a...

At 6 months let her chase to her hearts content. If your real worried about it loop a check cord around her belly and when she goes on point stake it into the ground.
