She was spayed before I got her, but I believe she was spayed at a young age. It's caused problems already, including some infection that developed because her vulva wasn't fully developed. Yes we'll be getting tested for the UTI. We have meds that were prescribed: Proin, which a vet earlier this su...

Urinary Incontinence
Good morning, question to the knowledgeable. My GSP female is starting to wet herself during naps during the day. I can't confirm whether she's been doing it at night yet. I've read some intel on female dogs who were spayed early on having this issue. I'm not confident whether it's a UTI or not, but...

I honestly hadn't either. I looked at Wem's link and got some solid info off there as well. Really I...

Hey All, I had posted about my dog's obsession with her rear-end from time to time. It had subsided for a bit but then has come back in force. A head start dog is nothing difficult to deal with. Depends on your needs for the dog, but if the training the dog is receiving is in line with the training you will continue I wouldn't think there should be any problems. It would help for you to spend whatever time the owner has left working with h...

I much prefer a 20 guage to a rifle for training. Rifles have a completely different type of sound that is much more piercing than a shotgun. There's also quite a bit of a difference between a .308 and any size shotgun. Dog's have exceptional hearing, and the best way to think of it is the difference between trebble and bass. Centerfire rifles are extremely ear piercing for dogs compared to a 20 or 12 ga shotgun. Although I'm sure a ton w...

It's also possible the dog wasn't properly crate trained. The owner may have to repeat the steps in reducing the dogs anxiety. Back to the basic of rewarding for kennel, and leaving the door open, using it as a comfort zone more than an auxiliary.
It does for sure sound like anxiety, though.
