Re: Training Day...
Rob--That's true..Wisconsin does have its downfall for dog training year round--especially farther north here..I'm still praying for the "golbal warming" trend to set---

Re: Pointer Tail
Drifter Saver--I too have a 5 months old pup that has the same tail issue..When he was 2-3months old he looked great on point and styling. Now that he's 5 months old his tail suddenly dropped down--almost between his legs..I have owned numerous pointers throughout the years and never seen it drop th...

Re: Whoa Training help needed
No an expert here but, I think he's looking for sympathy..He tried barking to relieve the pain/pressure and you gave in..He's going to looking for a weak spot in you..I would keep the pressure on his abdomen unitl he relaxes and knows that you're NOT going to give in because he's calling you to stop...

Re: The Dog Whisperer
I love the show..I saw him personally and knows that his techniques are better than a lot of other trainers. He can get into the dogs head and able to understand their desire or issues. The time I saw him, he had 3 "mean" dogs--they were so vicious that they couldn't be handle by anyone else except ...

Tail Problem?
I have a 5 month old male pointer that is not holding his tail hgiher than his back when styling or on point. He had a poker straight tail when younger, but recently has been dragging his tail. When on a barrel he also keeps his tail almost between his legs. It feels as though he has no control of t...

Re: Steady to Wild Flush
Guys & Gal--thanks for the reply---He's not bumping birds--Birds actually wild flush at a distance and he sees the birds but fails to stop at flush until I get there. I too believe that he should be corrected at the trial grounds as he is doing such act there. Like I said, at the mock trials he woul...

Steady to Wild Flush
Need some suggestions on how you guys got your dog steady to wild flush...I believe my 3 y/o male pointer is trying to out smart me on competition days. When in training and mock trials he would stand on his birds as long as 15 minutes before I get there--He'd stand there for wing and shot--complete...

I say there is NO UNTRAINABLE dog---It's just the "trainer" that is UNTRAINABLE-----
What are you intend to do with the dog? That's the most important question you need to ask yourself.

Re: red muscle in dogs eye?
Not sure what your vet's success rates are but mine said that he had done well over 100 of removals and has had no complaint of dry eyes. He said by reattaching has possibility to re-develop thus, costing you another visit and expense. I called at least 15-20 vets, within 150 miles, and they all hav...
