Re: Garmin Alpha
I start each hunt by clearing my track log and the dog's using the track manager selection in the Alpha's menu. I then select "new hunt" marking the truck location. At the end of the hunt before moving my vehicle I save the dog's track and my track (again using track manager on the Alpha). Doing thi...

Bad gas!!
I feed Native to my year old shorthair and she's got some potent gas bombs as well. My 7 yo eats the same food and I can't recall the last time she's cleared a room.
I guess I've just chalked it up to individual differences in the dog vs food.

Game Fair In MN
I made the mistake of only clearing up one day to attend. Next year it'll be at least two; one for seminars and another for just wandering around. Well worth going to if you are in the area.

Blackberries?
Not blackberries but my pups are big fans of raspberries. They're even wise enough to only pick and eat the ripe ones.

Separation Anxiety with 4 Month Old Britt
I'm with the above posters on the figure 8. The dog controls the correction and it's immediate. My puppy (4mo) is familiar with it and even with it on her tail never drops; she just quiets down and relaxes. After repeated use she's learned to be quiet in her crate and on the chain. It's only used on...

Greetings from MN
Long time lurker and figured it about time I said "hi!" 2 shorthairs in my house now; Zelda (a 6.5 yo rescue) and Kallie (4 mo). I forgot how much work a puppy can be but am loving the rewards that come along with it! I've apprecaited all of the opinions and ideas you all have shared on these pages!...

Re: Cheeto Trick Lady
Any tips on getting an older GSP (2 1/2) to swim rather than "walk" out on her hind legs? She will keep her head high, hind legs touching bottom, and fronts splashing out to a medium depth retrieve. I can trim her out and she swims just fine but then she goes back to the "walk" out to the next retri...
