I recently purchased an Astro two dog unit. I've had tri tronics for years. This was worth every penny I spent. Certainly takes the guess work out of it for sure and for me makes hunting a less frustrating. A good unit In my book!

Mr. Pike, No doubt you have done some research, but you are very much mistaken on many of your thoughts. I am not a trialer but currently own a Snow watch female and a Millers Dialing In female. Make no mistake about it, both Snow watch and Dialing In were/are exceptional field trial dogs. My dogs a...

Re: Dog licking tail
Thanks for the advice. This started late last year. She had a bout with fleas and I think we have them under control now. I believe it's more habit now than anything. She seems to lick the tip to about three inches below. She is wormed and the vet thought it to be caused by an allergy. I'm thinking ...

Dog licking tail
I have a two year old female pointer that has developed a habit of licking her tail. She gets flea treatment every month and has been looked at by a vet. Any advice on how to get her to stop. The "cone of shame" is not an option.
Thanks

Looking For A Bird Hunt
I am trying to find a reputable quail plantation of sorts where a guy can take his son for a once in a lifetime quail hunt. I would like to limit it to Kansas/Oklahoma area. I am looking for a place that offers lodging, meals, wild or established coveys, and I will be bringing my own dogs. If anyone...

I have a five year pointer female that has suddenly started acting like one of her rear legs was bothering her. Every once in awhile, she "yipes" and carries her leg for a second. There certainly are good GSP's and Brits out there for sure. I have unted behind both that would make some pointers and setters look pretty bad and I am a pointer man. Generally speaking though, Brits and GSP's don't run as big and in the field trial world they want a dog with a nose and that can co...

Nothing against the other breds but in my opinion you will never see anything other than a pointer or setter win the National or any other big all age horseback field trial. The dogs have to run and cover a ton of ground. I sure hope I dont offend anyone as I have had two britts that were good wild ...

I think you needto put birds is launchers. You need to be careful and launch the bird before the dog gets close. I don't want a dog to circle I want him to point !!

My best hunting buddy had a very nice black lab we used to take with us bird hunting. We usually had two or three pointers and the lab stuck pretty close to us.
