Re: Range/Trial Question
Especially with Setters you never know what they're going to do or what they're going to be like after you break them. I could name some top contenders from a big name setter kennel ( but I won't ) that had some really nice winning derbies, then came time to breakem and they couldn't handle it. They...

You guys are most definitely NOT Grouse men. Filson chaps will last about 3 days in the real grouse woods. TIENANANS out of Texas seem to hold up the best.

Re: Grouse in southern App.
Why is some states better than others for Partridge hunting? Can you say LOGGING PRACTICES. Wherever it is good that state has a viable logging industry, that provides regeneration of young growth every couple of years. It ain't rocket science. PA hunters know one thing and one thing only DEER that'...

Re: Hunters Edge by Arkat
As I said the food is good feed, I wish I could've struck something up with them. I just had a problem where I 'm located being able to get it. As I run a kennel I cannot go without being able to rely on service from a company who cannot guarantee quality service.

Depending on what part of the country you're in Arkat can be pretty difficult to get and as a company pretty hard to deal with. Just speaking from personal experience, and we're feeding plenty of mouths.

Horse feed
What type and brand of feed is everyone using these days for field trial horses? I'm not looking for any long drawn out discussions or looking to start any problems, just wondering with the season in full swing what everyone is using to keep their horses up to speed. Thank you in advance.

Relocating S. Ill. area

Re: Attitudes High Finance as a stud dog....?
People seem to be a little thin skinned these days. What I'm saying is if you haven't done the research of the sire and dam or are just breeding to see what happens then you have no business breeding. I've been in this game for a good number of years and have spent many an hour in the saddle watchin...

If I'm understanding you guys right, if me personally had a dog that young who has shown me all that what you people call natural ability I would probably be inclined to get rid of it. I kinda agree with what Joe is saying to a point, but in my mind you up your odds tremendously if you don't buy a puppy. Puppies are all a crap shoot no matter what you pay for them or who you get them from!!!!!!!!!!! Look at a Derby aged dog and you will at least get to see a bit more of what the e...

Another thing to remember or keep in mind about an WPG is they tend to be very much a 1 person dog. So much so that some of them can be a bit of a problem to have around.

Ray do you really want to teach your girlfriend how to handle a gun:]?
