You won't want to stay near KCI, it's quite a ways north of downtown. There are lots of hotels in Johnson county on the Kansas side within 30 minutes of downtown in Overland Park, Lenexa and Olathe if you have a hard time finding something downtown that fits what you're looking for.

I start mine wearing one when we're out on a walk or doing yard work at around 4-5 months. I introduce collar stimulation at a low level at around 6 months and I utilize the perfect start method of introduction.

This is a good topic, I have always fed extra the evening before a hunt and then not again until after the hunt. My reasoning is my fear of bloat, perhaps it's not a concern I need to worry about but I've just never wanted to chance it.

There is nothing better for me than to be hunting Quail with my 15 year old son and my 2 brittany's. If the Quail would come back here in Eastern KS I would probably only hunt pheasants once or twice a year but as it stands now pheasant offer me the chance to pursue a more abundant wild bird hunt. You'll be fine out west, just make sure you stop and get a walk in book from Kansas fish and game, I can't tell you how helpfull they are. I'd suggest you head west on I70 to at least Hays, if you base in Hays you will find plenty of walk in land either north or south to hunt. WaKeeney, Hill city or Norton are also excellent choices to base out of. If you are a single hunter you may find some of the walkin fields overwelming. If you ar...
