Stress related to the force fetch process. If it were me, I would accentuate the positive and don't get negative at all. If the dog does something wrong don't do anything or say anything. Just repeat what you want your pup to do. When they do it right. Give em praise.

I've found success in going back to basics (something the dog has mastered) helps quite a bit. It gives the dog some confidence and helps pup to realize what you are asking of him/her. I always start a training session with something that has already learned. IMO it starts the dog in the right direc...

Have you tried on the side of your house or a hallway inside your house? Worked great for me and my English Cocker :D

Thanks a bunch for the info. Since my closest spaniel hunt test is Nebraska (I live in Colorado) I think I will just jump in and give it a whirl. I'm going to watch a retriever hunt test in May, but I've heard that spaniel and retriever hunt tests are a bit different in regards to the type of retrie...
