Yes they did and under breeder judge Frank Washabaugh to boot.
And what was really great, was that Alli's grandma (me) and her great grandma (Donna Spinneli) were ringside to watch. We got goose bumps just watching the pair perform. A great day!

Let's make pretend that- for the sake of arguement, every dog in your breeding program was tested for some genetic defect via a new 100% conclusive test ...... and they all tested positive. Wow, if this happened, I would be so disillusioned with the breed as a whole, I think I might be tempted to s...

When evaluating tail set/carriage, you have to realize that the tail is an EXTENSION fo the spine. Therefore, the dog will use the tail for balance when running, swimming, hunting and any other forms of movement or actions. A dog that has a 12 oclock tail, to me, looks unnatural. Also a dog that run...

Coop, For me it is just personal preference. I like the liver/white/ticked or solid liver, always have. I am sure that there are those that would never own a solid liver GSP either, same difference. That is why I really don't care if it passes. I will still show my dogs and finish them in the show r...

The pup is about 10 weeks old right? His eyes should already be brown. But, on another note, the tri factor is a know factor in DK's and it crops up from time to time. The eye color goes along with the tri color. Don't discount that this pup is a pure bred GSP. Though, I certainly wouldn't breed one...

A dog that has a VERY strong pointing instinct from the getgo will either be a natural backer or be extremely easy to teach the back. Backing is pointing instinct, they are just pointing another dog as they would a bird. Many dogs, once they realize what a dog on point is pointing, they will back. I...

John, Why even post this: But here's the point. DK's are dogs for very good trainers. You can't just buy a DK, park it in the kennel nine months of the year and take it out in the fall and hunt it. Of course, you can't do that with any other dog either. But more than most dogs, they need a dedicated...

I think a lot of people on the forum do. I think the reason you may have noticed GSP's getting weaker in Natural Ability is because there are some breeders that don't care. So it's not the GSP that is getting weaker Natural Abilities, it's careless breeders putting more un-natural pups on the groun...

Coming late to this discussion. IMO, I believe that the Standard, as written, for the GSP is fine. As was mentioned, there are many, many di...
