Red dobie, or pit bull terrier or similar. I'd like a dog that will protect the kids! My wife grew up with a red dobe, & that dog made it a point to put herself in between my wife & any stranger she came across. Pretty good thing, as her parents were pretty much non present for her :cry:

Yes, I have, & My teenage son, my nephew & my son's friend were "experimenting" with the collar Christmas Eve... The results were pretty amusing to watch!! It wasn't until they were half way through the scale when I introduced them to "Nick"!

I've got the Trius One Step, & love it! You don't have to break your arm setting it & to launch it, you just step on the pedal. I use it all the time by myself. Costs about $100 @ Cabelas.

They like to hide in the pines out there, so work the tree lines. They tend to hold pretty well in the trees. Just make sure you're on the right side of the trees when they flush (good luck)! The rangers like to plant the birds along the southern end of the fields just before sending the hunters out...

Just broke in my new "toy" @ the annual company sporting clays shoot, a Benelli Super Nova, 12 gauge, 28" barrel. The gun performed splendidly(wish I could say the same for the operator :( ). Greg, Dave & Adam are pretty much right. Saturday won't be too bad on 294. You'll hit snags around the tolls (EZ pass accepted). Don't want to be on that road during the week, though...there are spots that NEVER clear up weekdays, & you'll still get slowed up anywhere there's a merge, split or toll....

I'm w/ Ezzy, too. My dog HATES firecrackers, but gets riled up (positively) when he hears gunshots. Believe it or not, firecrackers & gunshot are @ very different frequencies for a dog.

I'm w/ Ruff. I crossed a shallow creek & kept on going. He didn't want to be away from me, & I didn't make a big deal out of his fussing. He eventually went in of his own accord, & now has no problem w/ water.
It also helped to bring him to the Fox River & let him chase ducks & geese.
