The Nevada chukar season opens tomorrow. My PL Carter has been retired, it is always sad when a fine dog gets to this stage, but I sure have some great memories of chukar hunting with him. So, we move on and the 2 setters will be on the ground for the next 4 months doing what they love.

Good news, :D the little dog was on her blanket when I got on the ridge. She was scared, cold and hungry but other than that she is in good shape. I already had a conversation with the owner on what needs to be done. This made my day!!! I’m taking the rest of the day to help my wife make tamales. :)

The sad thing is I knew there was an issue with this dog and I had a second astro collar in my truck I could have put on the dog. I wasn't hunting over to dog but I could have found it with a bit of time, just makes me sick.

We hunted again today and saw several coveys. One thing for sure flock shooting has never worked out well, 18 shots and zero birds. We had a great day.
