Re: breeder type

Bite is not a direct performance issue; it is a health issue, it is an animal husbandry issue. That's why successful, ethical, well-respected breeders in every major hunting dog arena, from retrievers to spaniels to pointing dogs, view bite problems as a disqualification for breeding. Unless the bi...

Seriously! What is it you are looking for in a baby puppy? Or I should say, what would you reccomend someone else to look for? What in a puppy is a deal breaker? A dog with blistering speed would more than likely be dragging a rope tail which is not perferred.
You lost me on that one. Strut, the Purina All Age DOY last year, looks as good going as any animated Shooting Dog anywhere. He is also part of the hunting dog string on their Plantation in GA.

Ross, in all honesty, how many days per year do you hunt wild birds? 300+ We train almost every day on wild birds, the only thing we don't do is shoot many. With 60-80 dogs in the kennel, we need all the wild birds possible, so harvesting our bird population is minimal. We recently hosted the Fort ...

My point is that no registry serves a higher purpose than another (e.g. AKC over AF, over UKC, etc.).
