Re: IMPORTANT!! Things to know about the Garmin Astro
Just as a point of clarification. I've been working with Martin for months with the Garmin units. I should say Martin has been working for months and I have been listening to his concerns. A few weeks ago he brought up a couple issues that really perked my ears up. So, I called Garmin direct....not ...

Until "this situation" completely blows up....and it will not be long; no one will understand just how serious it is. Few understand the problem, (except those who live here), as it really is. The media is scared to death to report. LOOK at those photos on the site provided........you will not belie...

Great event, great fun. All the placed dogs deserved more than ribbons and trophies.....90+ degrees for many braces, tough but fair course.......Heat tough on dogs and handlers. Terry Chandler did a fabulous job putting the event together. The only thing he could not foresee was the unseasonably hot...

Look me up if you get a chance. I have a silver Dodge 3500 dually, Lance camper on top and a Trails West three horse slant trailer.
Weather was so miserable today, I decided to leave Saturday. I should get there around 1.

Right now it is raining in Phoenix and mixed rain and snow down there. Forcasted to stay this way all day and night. Could be very messy. My guess is a lot of water lines on the rigs have burst. Range of temps in the last couple weeks there have been mid teens and up. With the rain and snow the road...

I"m leaving a little later today, I'll give both of them a "shout out" for you. This stretch of events down there consumes a ton of time.....Two AKC trials (4-5 days to finish each) The first one starting Saturday has 175 entries.......the second starting a couple days after the conclusion of the fi...

JMHO............If you think they are old enough to be out there and need to be out there when there are snakes out and about....then they are old enough to be snake broke. The young ones are especially vulnerable to the venom. (Snakes don't care how old they are) I had two done at 7 months. Just tu...

Jason........In all seriousness...............Yes, it goes away, until the dog does it again. Sometimes they never do. A 'reverse sneeze" is scary, but a real "non-event." However......and this is really important: This thread should NEVER be considered in any way as an authoritive source document f...

I am not a Vet and can't tell for sure what your dog has, but it sounds exactly like what one of mine does. I came unglued the first time it happened; thought the dog was going to fall over dead. Needless to say; we loaded the dog into the truck.... off to the Vet. By this time the dog was looking a...

Thanks John. I'm going to lengthen the ropes today and see if that helps. I'm using a bike to rode and generally try to adjust speed so that there is not much "pull" to the effort. In other words the dog is running but not pulling. I am probably not getting the maximum results, but have found that I...

Brandon...............My thoughts are with you on your loss. Always remember that the degree of pain we feel on their loss is a direct reflection of the joy we shared with them while they were here. Accept that and know that the pain you feel now will pass, but the joyful memories will last forever....

Phil, I think Red Rocks did a great job with their education program. As is sometimes the case in many issues, one person misunderstands and passes that along to the next. Pretty soon the misunderstanding morphs into fact. I ran into several guys who were under the impression that one booster a year...

Just a reminder to those who are using the vaccine. Early on there was some confusion as to the proper protocol for the shots. In fact Red Rocks had a booth this year at the GSPNSS; where I got a chance to talk with them again and urge that they revisit the education campaign as to how and when the ...

Jon, all due respect to your current trainer; but strictly from what you have said, I agree.......a different approach is needed. What seems to be taking place is that your trainer hopes the dog catches on to the program without any type of encouragement in the form of training. Right now your dog t...

Just a suggestion in the heat. Use open sided boxes, not airline shipping types. Keep water in bottom tray of box. Open all windows including the slider in front. If you do not have a slider, have one installed...it draws in a ton of air. Depending on length of trip, stop and spray your dogs with wa...
