Thanks for the reply Margaret. From all the input I am getting I will just push the birds and worry about the fur when he gets steady on the birds. I will start the fur retreiving earlier though once I FF.

Does anyone hunt fur with their DK or GSP?

I am picking up a DK in a couple of months. I have been doing alot of research on them and I really like the idea of hunting fur with him. I guess I am just kinda curious as to how you train a pup for fur and birds the same time.

I must be in the minority here in WI. We have deer crawling out of the wood works here. I filled four tags opening morning and was done. I live in Cumberland and hunt in the Prarie Farm area. We all did great there.

I have been catching my pigeons out of silos. The short ones (40 footers) and empty.It is pretty easy actually. If you are afraid of heights it won't work tho.And you need a helper.

Thanks for pointing that out Ezzy. I was just going to let it be, but yes my PUPS sister was 96 days. My sister is 7395 days old and in no way has any connection to the sister of my pup. For here on out I will just say litter-mate.
