Mink in pigeon Loft ??
Anybody have trouble with mink getting into your loft. I left for Michigan for a grouse trip and my wife called the next day and said everyone of my birds in the new loft I just completed were dead. Seems the little critters got in under the door and just had a field day. I have not re-filled the lo...

Pedigree program
I use Breedmate (www.breedmate.com) Easy to use, although the download was a little tedious and calculates COI and regressions all you want with the click of a button. You can do trial breedings, it colors all ancestors in the pedigree, give family trees and a lot of other neat stuff. Entering the d...

Update
Woman was indicted by the grand jury, now faces trial. Her comments wer that she did not do anything. That she said someting about it to someone that got back to the police. She is still only charged with obstruction and tampering with evidence. Sounds like some else did the deed and she is covering...

Where to live
For us easterners I would prefer Northern Michigan. Lots of birds, terrain is not bad, not too many people and land is affordable. The only drawback is the snow.

Update
The person arrested for this crime waived her preliminary hearing and is now headed for the grand jury "to determine if there is enough evidence to indict (re-charge) her". Its always been said here that a proseuctor could indict a ham sandwich if they wanted to. I will put up a new post when the ch...

Dog Box
Thanks to all of you who checked out my web site and noticed my "cabinet" dog box. Actually the box was made to house dogs and fit that trailer. My brother is a cabinet maker and it was a lot cheaper to make that box out of maple and birch plywood than to spend the big $$$$$$$$$$ on a trailer. It is...

DNA'ing dogs
This is not a new thing to anybody that registers/sells/breeds Llewellins. Seems the biggest breeder of these dogs had some real issues on the parentage/identity of some of his dogs. Seems to me that this is only going to be a bigger and bigger issue in the future. I believe that if you buy a pup or...

Shot size
Definately 8's or 9's on woodcock & grouse, I think the more pellets you get into the air the better off you are. Look at the difference in pellet count as you go up in size (down in number) and you can see the chances of hitting something with a smaller shot size increases dramatically. Ity does no...

Subject Arrested
I am a fireman in the town where the dogs were stolen. I will try to keep this site updated with the progress of the case. I know the Conn kennel club the owner belonged to offered up a 10k reward but that the reward was not the reason the car thief/dog killer was caught.

Hunt tests
Thanks for the reply. Are the tests breed specific, it seems from your post that they are, and are they on foot, I don't much care for horses too darn much work. And lastly are there any in Ohio, I see you are from the Columbus area, I am closer to Akron. I have been to Bascham's a long time ago. Th...
