Mine get bones and pig ears occasionally. Balls/frisbees for fun fetch only then they get put away. All sorts of squeaky toys around the house, have no hardmouth problems.

! It's a pup, no hair pulling. Keep it all positive. That pup's attention span is about half a microsecond long, just keep having fun. Everything is new to your pup, so really, everything you do is "training". Just try and keep experiences positive and stay consistent with your goals.

Has anyone else had positive responses from splashing water on the dog's bellies and not on their heads or back? Scott Yes. Hot blood in the neck, belly, and groin areas. Good areas to cool. I have observed the same things as hi-tailyn, dogs will wade around to cool their undersides if left to thei...

I really don't have the time or the inclination to get into this. But fear isn't a very good "training" tool, dogs that are afraid will let you down when they cower to appease your "manliness" instead of doing what they should. So you go right ahead and make any ignorant assumptions about my dogs le...

I think its a move in the right direction. You feed her, she knows you are the primary in the relationship. They should obey when given a command. That being said, it's not always necessary to command them. I think its great you posted, says something about you. I wouldn't worry about it. I'd rather...

He will be teething a while yet. Re: Demodectic Mange

My first GSP had demodectic mange as a pup. As you have probably read it is caused by naturally occuring mites overpopulating for some reason. Stress, poor diet, not yet fully developed immune system (in the case of a young pup) could all be factors. In my pups case I altered her diet, tried to keep...
