Re: Duck decoys - ratio question
Don't take this the wrong way but being on the "X" doesn't really mean try the "W" or "Y" because there next to the "X", but if you don't hunt it I will assume it's for good reason, and would suggest watch the flocks that you're seeing and try to match.

Re: Duck decoys - ratio question
With out the exact info, and activity of where you're hunting I would say that any advice regardless of the source is not that usefull, but for what it's worth I run a 50/50, with a large spread. My hunting buddies and I have an annual painting day. We touch up any dark spots with matte black paint ...

Re: whoa post help
i'm by no means a trainer, but have had good luck with dogs in the past. My question would be does she know what your after? It's possible that she just hasn't developed much of a prey drive. I would try playing fetch using a dead bird, in a controlled but very fun matter with her. My guess is that ...

Re: picking a shotgun
pending on where you are from, academy sports in the south sells the yildiz o/u which from what I've heard and read they are great guns for the price. ($400 I believe) I plan to visit my uncle down in GA this fall and will take a look at them. Keep in mind that I don't have any personnel experience ...

Re: Best way to keep dogs off couch?
Yes, the mouse trap was a joke. I guess sarcasm is hard to portray with words. The tin foil has worked for my folks.

????force fetch
as some of you have read my britt has her own thoughts of life. One is weather or not she wants to retrieve or not. At two years of age she's very good at what she does but not being a 100% on this is one of those little pet peeves. My questions are have any of you guys done this and if so how much ...

Re: DRAHTHAAR????
The original poster here. I'm still looking at different breeds and am still set on a versatile breed. I like the idea of them and will probably end up in that direction when I do get another pup. Thanks for all the advise from everyone and keep it coming. The GLP's have really caught my eye, or may...

Re: DRAHTHAAR????
I guess I did make a pretty generalized statement about britts. I should have said mine is a wimp and couldn't tolerate the cold. I will give her the benefit of the doubt being that she came from another climate and didn't get a chance to gradually get use to the cold. Ezzy how do yours do with wate...

Re: DRAHTHAAR????
Hey I appreciate all the help. vikings269 I love labs and there will always be a place in my heart for them but I really like pointing dogs, and I know there are pointing labs that do great but I feel the likely hood of getting one that doesn't have that pointing instinct is higher. jagerherzen than...

Re: DRAHTHAAR????
Not saying that I've been swayed because I certainly have not but what might be some other breeds that I could/should look in to. I have a few others in mind but would like to see some suggestions.

DRAHTHAAR????
Hey everyone, I was curious what some opinions on drahthaars are. I'm simply researching, not looking to get anything tell I'm back in WI next year. I hunt a lot of pheasants, ducks, and geese in the fall, and rabbits in the winter. I also hope to get in to some grouse up in the north woods as well. ...

Re: Double Barrel Shotguns
I started with a single shot and then jumped to a semi (rem 11-87) and that has been my go to gun since, about ten years now. I do have an 870 for those dirty duck days, but always go back to my auto. This matters because when I go back to WI and hunt with my father who has a couple older O/U berett...

Hello
hey everyone, figured I would introduce myself. I'm adam from WI, and am currently stationed in WA with the army. I grew up with labs and had a GSP prior to the service that I gave to a friend of the family when I joined and his kids fell in love with her so I was out a pup. I moved on and now have ...
