I found it was easier to catch them than it was to trap them. My best place was one of those do-it-yourself coin operated car washes. I'd go at night with a flashlight and fishing net. I don't know if singing would work for me. Chukar, especially late season birds, are often not bothered by a whistle, but a voice will send them running or flying.
I can see how it would be useful in a trial though.
