i kind of thought that too. but when she was a pup, and there was a loud noise when she wasnt paying attention, she would startle. is this an unfixable problem?

he is a retriever trainer. i decided to use him, because he was referred to me by a friend/breeder. right now she is where she will heel and sit and he will have launchers out in the field up to 70 yards. his asst will launch and he will fire a blank 12 gauge, and then he will send her out to get it...

my gsp is off at the trainer now, and he just called and we talked about force fetching. she will go out and retrieve 4 or 5 times, and then just wants to roam. i know were trying to go against what shes bred to do by retrieving, what do yall think.? to force fetch, or not to force fetch?

well, one of the reasons i went with this guy, was one because he's good, two he is nearby. i work for the fire department, so on my days off i get to go work with him and her, so ill actually know whats goin on, and it will be me and her workin together. so hopefully all turns out well...

thanks. thats what i was kind of wondering. she knows sit, stay, come, kennel. i just worry about taking her out and her darting and not being able to catch her. i know her knowing those command should contradict that fear, i guess im just a nervous newb.
