Re: pointing hunt test questions

Adrenaline can play a factor in your hunt test. So don't be surprised if your normally fantastic dog does something you would not expect. I was like you the first time I entered Lily in a master test. On a good day I knew she could pass. Her bracemate pointed a bird in the back field. Lily honored t...

I wasn't sure if my dog was quite ready for masters, but figured on a good day she could pass. I knew she wouldn't mess up another dog though so I entered both. A collar around the flank and the neck. Man it's hard enough for me to control one collar. I can't imagine adding a second and having to keep it all straight. I already feel like I need three hands. I'm with Elsa on this. Keep it simple.

We re homed a lot of our sleddogs at age 7 or 8. Many went to places where they were kept inside. Generally they adapted very well to the change. I don't quite understand your reluctance to go to the breeder with the problems you are having. He needs to be kept in the loop and may even have some ideas of why the dog is acting as he is. Until you check in with him we don't really know what he's willing to do to rectify the problem.

Well I have the 2014 model. Maybe it's a bit larger. It's more than adequate for two dogs in the back. It won out over the outback because of the gas mileage. With one crate I can drive with the seat up and we're just lacking an inch with two crates in the back.
