When I finish a hunt. I save the current Tract for dog & myself, then turn off unit. When I plug Alpha into my computer, it connects (straight line) to my home. In Oklahoma, the public land that allows deer gun hunting, upland hunters are not allowed for the first nine days of that season. We are relegated to land that doesn't allow deer gun hunting. Fine with me. It doesn't last that long. Keeps us from interfering with each other and safer.

I'm no expert, but when I did my obsessive research for my Brittany pup, the magic window was 8 to 12 weeks. 8 weeks being the earliest and 12 weeks pushing it for potential social issues.

That being said, if you trust your vet, listen to him.

Awesome. Good vets are hard to find. I am curious though. Did he attend OSU instead of OU? Oklahoma State has the vet school. My best friend/vet graduated from there.
