Re: Is this normal for a Brittany puppy?
P>S. Has he been dewormed? He was positive for roundworms, and he is currently passing them. He was dewormed at six weeks, and he was taken to the vet at eight weeks, and the vet told me that he was negative for them now, but I'm still seeing live segments in his stool. Would this mess with his moo...

Re: Is this normal for a Brittany puppy?
Put him in his crate for two hours then come get him out....he'll like you. Show him a bird....he'll like you. Play with a wing on a string for three minutes a day....he'll like you. No training though....no sit and stay at all. That's a mild form of punishment. No biting is all I'd be teaching. Be...

Is this normal for a Brittany puppy?
I've had dogs before, but many of my dogs have been an older age when I got them. So, I'm a little new at puppies, and I'm even more new at gun dogs. As I mentioned before, four days ago, I finally took home my 8 week old, male, American Brittany puppy, July. When I visited him at six weeks, he was ...

Weird question.
The other day when I was visiting my Brittany pup, the breeder told me that the day before, he received his firstt puppy shot, a dewormer, and then she paused, gave me a sly look, and said, "...and his you-know-whats" done. I nodded and smiled, acting like I knew what she was talking about, but I ha...

Re: Puppy constantly barking
If he barks only when you put him in his kennel, he is probably just homesick. I've had a pup cry for nearly two weeks! By the middle of next week, he should quiet down. Make his kennel inviting. Put some safe toys and treats in there, special ones he can only find in his kennel. Also, never go to t...

I love male dogs. I love my girls, too, but I'm female and seem to have always bonded more with a male, canine companion. However, there is one shortcoming: the humping. I'm aware that not all dogs do it, and I know some female dogs that get into I, too. I, also, know that it is a natural thing, but...

How do you protect your dog from snakes and spiders?
Dogs are curious creatures, and where I live, we have a surplus of snakes, particularly copperheads.
And we're in a black widow/brown recluse expansion area.
What can you do to prevent bites?
If it happens and you're in a field, what do you do?
Has it ever happened to you?

So, to be safe, just stick with healthy dog foods with the appropriate puppy formula instead of strictly going grain-free?
