Re: 10 Month GSP hunting success!
Wow that is impressive. I thought there was a limit of 3 a day per hunter!
If you didn't get out that much that's pretty impressive even if you were hunting each time with a bunch of guys.

Re: Placed pigeons question?
My girl was having the same problem at about 9 months. I was at a training session and the trainer said most times this is caused by people subconsciously walking their dogs to the bird when they are a puppy rather than allowing the dog to find the bird itself. It gets used to the pattern quickly an...

Re: can a gsp duck hunt
Definitely but keep in mind that any dog should be conditioned/acclimated to the environment they are going to be hunted in. Spending 3 hours in the field in Florida is a lot different than 3 hours in a duck blind in Michigan.

Skid Plate Suggestions
I have an 18 month old hard charging Vizsla that needs a skid plate. Hunted her on Saturday and I tried the Cabelas neoprene vest but the fit wasn't perfect and her arm pits were rubbed raw. It has taken her 3 days to recover from Saturday's hunt. The dog will run through a brick wall for a cripple....

Re: Finds the birds, but doesn't retrieve
At 9 months there is so much going on in a dogs development that can't be seen that I would caution you to try and redirect the dog's development to your plan and not his natural development. If you have to walk the dog over to find the downed bird then your title of this post is incorrect. Having n...

Re: George Hickox
I have used George Hickox(Ben Garcia, Smith's Silent.Command and a few others) to come up with a system to train my 18 month old Vizsla. George's information is very thorough and he explains the why in each drill/exercise. I would imagine his Retriever training DVD's do the same. I only switched to ...

Force Fetch Force Fetch????
It seems to be the answer that everyone has but I find it to be so strange that someone can make this assumption without the full information or ever seeing the dog. I will talk about my own experience and you can do with it what you want. I have a Vizsla(18 months) from an outstanding line. She too...
