I was hoping to make it down Friday to watch Sonny run in his first AA, but the darn DOCTOR released me to go back to work so I will not be able to make it afterall. But I know he is in good hands with Keith and Robbi and will give it his all.

Just heard from Robbi that my dog , Sonny (On Points Son of the Max) won the Dery Classic at Region V. Way to go Robbi, Keith, and of coarse Sonny!!!

never once said it was easy... just don't sell these dogs short. I am sure not ALL of the "hour dogs" make it around clean either.

Congrats to all who won at the R8 Championships. Alot of nice dogs... but not to rain on the parade, there were also alot of nice dogs running at Branched Oak that were not at the R8. Can't wait to get 'em all together at Eureka. See ya all there.

Standard poodles used to be hunters also, but I would never take one to the field. If you already have the dog, thats one thing...but to go out and buy one for hunting... I have some ocean front property in Arizona if you are interested...

Ted,

The 3rd place dog in the derby was Cajun, a son to LB. Pat alos trains him as well. Cajun also finished 3rd at Sharptail in the Derby.

Yes it was a big trial. 267 total entries before scratches. 35 starters in the Derby.

My boy Sonny won again in the Derby at the GSPC of Ne trial this past weekend at Branched Oak. Pat Waresk handles and trains Sonny. Pepper, That nice gun dog that won the derby is mine. His name is On Points Son Of The Max..Sonny.. thanks for the compliment. He is 17 months and according to the Shorthair Journal is the 5th rated puppy/dery dog right now. He will be running in the Chicken Championships in Brewster and the Shortha...
