A SxS is only as good as it fits you. Example: On a neutral cast I will be looking down the left barrel. Try mounting the SxS with your eyes closed, then open them and see where you are really looking. I now have a SxS that was fitted to me and I can really knock down the birds with it. Shotguns.......

Roosters run. Hens will flush and the rooster will sneak out the back. Roosters will drive some pointing dogs crazy. Some pointing dogs figure it out some never do. Before you go on your hunt do a search for a Vet that will be close to where your will be hunting. Call them and ask them how many snake bits they treat each year. It has many drawings of different breeds showing their movement and gait.

I worked for Mr Brown back in the 70's. The book is excellent!

I can tell you this; I no longer hunt with a guy that has an aggressive dog.

Feed twice a day.

Do not free feed.

Measure the feed every time.

Lots of water.

Feed more. Some dogs of the same breed will required different amounts of food.

Weigh the dog often; such as every couple of weeks.

A good looking Pointer looks skinny to most people.

If it starts on the top of the paw, try at least 10 days with no field work. I know it's tuff, but this does happen. Time to get another dog.

A boot on the paw with vet wrap up the leg. Don't get it too tight. The boot may cause more problems.

Not uncommon. They want to be assured you are what they think you are. A little tweet or voice command will help.

Light solid colors are easier to see.

I hope there are no chickens on the ranch.

With that said, I have an ACD that is the best flushing and retrieving dog west of the Mississippi. She learned on our chickens. She killed a couple and brought them to me. I did nothing but praise her. The training cost only two chickens!

I use some stuff called Endure, which is glucosamine and chondroitin.

It's a powder that smells like the South China Sea at low tide, so the dogs really like it :D

Can't tell if it works, but my dogs hunt over 100 days in the field every year.

Some times on some dogs this type of vest will rub under the front legs.

How much aggressiveness will neutering take out of a two year GSP? A friend has this dog and I need to give him the message before something terrible happens. If he brings this dog around any for my other friends dogs it will get very ugly. I just will not put my dogs on the ground with it. Thank you.
