I did the same thing. Bought the last pair the dealer had. Wish I had not. To stiff. Hard to break-in, too heavy for walking. Got a pair of Danner and they are wonderful. Bought them in the spring at a Gander Mt. at a discount. I have been wearing mine nearly everyday since I bought them, and they ...

A pointer in that situation would likely end up a broken bloody mess. Im going to assume that the litter is split up and you can't get the pups all back together for a few more weeks. 1. This is a bird dog puppy, they are bred to hunt. Moving pant legs, feet, socks etc.. are all fair game at this point in the pups mind. Focus that attention to hard toys or something m...

As a first time bird dog owner I can relate. Get the yard training stuff done. And when you see the dog understands then for a while don't worry about it. What I mean is I have a dog that fetched perfectly when he was 3 months old. After that it was 'keep away'. Except for birds I shot. Now, a year...

Not sure what it is called, but I like my dog to take off for the retrieve as soon as he spots a bird that is hit. I got lucky and mine has done this naturally, and I am sure we recovered more crippled pheasants because he is right on them when they hit the ground.
