I have never hunted chukar, but I will tell you they are the nicest boots i have owned. We hunt the palouse in eastern wa for pheasant so it alot of up and down hill, and they seem to be holding up just fine.

If a male dog marks in the house it 100% operator error. I have two males that free roam my house and I have only had a dog try to mark once, and while he was still mid stream I made him understand very quickly that it was unacceptable.

I wear those little stretch gloves that you buy for little kids in the winter. Buy a few pairs for your pocket just incase you get them wet. It is a good idea to check you pup out thoroughly after every hunt. eyes and ears are the most important, then check entire body for cuts and thorns. It only takes a few minutes but it saves a lot of headache later. Glad your pup is okay though.

I feed my dog a cup of food before we head out hunting, but it is usually a few hours before he ever gets his paws muddy. And it is more to keep him in the routine of morning meal than anything else, if he gets out of his routine his whole day is thrown off.
