From the very very little I know of pedigrees it looks pretty good to me. The only reason I know is because my pup has some thunderhill's dogs in his ped so I did a little research. Both the dam and sire are beautiful dogs IMO. If he ends up looking half as good as they do you'll have one handsome b...

It'll be a little more high maintenance. Might have to strip him more frequently. Unless he has a poor coat, the wirehair should keep the burrs out of his coat pretty well. The beard and ears will catch them still, but I don't think that would be considered a defective coat though. You'd have to ask...

Is your heart set on a flushing breed? Personally I can't see myself owning a flushing breed in the future. The pointing breeds are just so much fun to watch in the field. More info on how you did the ecollar training would be helpful. If he associates the ecollar nic with you being around, you're doing something wrong. The dog should associate the nic only with the behavior. Did the dog wear the collar turned off for a couple months before you started using it? Is he...

I think if you do it snug high up on the dogs head gravity will do it's work and it'll settle lower on the dogs neck as the right tightness. I've read that in order to get the pressure off the dogs wind pipe the first thing you should do is rotate the trap 90 degrees. Anyone know if that's even doable when the jaws are putting 90lbs of pressure on the neck? Sounds like it would be tough.
