Can't remember the dogs name, extremely famous EP. Early part of 20th century the tabasco sauce family bough it for something like $90k. He was 11 yrs old at the time.

I plant the traps in order, have a number on each trap. Closest to me get @1, next #2 and last one is #3. I do that because like yourself I've popped the wrong bird! At each trap on the brush up high as I can, I leave a close pin I've painted florescent orange.

I would avoid the generic and major brands like the plague. There really is significant differences in what goes into different feeds. However...

I have an idea most hard mouth is man made. When we teach retrieving we throw a soft object and to often people pry to pull it out of the dog's mouth. Take a lesson from force training. Don't start with a soft object Delmar Smith suggest's starting with a hard wood dowel! As I recall he moves to a f...

A little background first. I owned a wonderful Pudelpointer for the past 13 years, we unfortunately had to put him down this past fall. He was an excellent dog in the field and the house, but one area I felt could have been better was his stamina. I am a foot hunter and a one dog guy. I run and mou...

Something I found hunting grouse is it's hard to keep track of your dog. I run mine with a Garmin 320 tracking collar. With it on it also shows the route I took and it's easy to get back out! Your track on it is a different color than the dog's! I don't know what they run now but mine was $550 about...

So, here's the deal with leaving a pup with a trainer. They don't get much work and social interaction. A trainer may carry 20 dog's. Those dog's are trained daily but not given a lot of time. A pro is very efficient, makes no or few mistakes and doesn't need a lot of time with the dog's. In my opi...

Probably the best way to start a pup retrieving in play retrieving in a hallway, no where for the pup to go but back to you. Next best I've found is using a check cord.
