No one seems to like my suggestion. Mandate insurance for firearms. Let private industry investigate the mental, physical, and judicial health of the applicant. Re: really! (why trials should not be limited to a breed.)
The question is why a trial should or should not be limited to a breed. The best answer is more than likely something that considers what that dog is expected to do in the field and what is best for that particular breed of dog. Bingo!! The Spinone standard describes the working style and pace of t...

Re: really! (why trials should not be limited to a breed.)
this is why trials should not be limited to a breed. I can see why someone might say this, but in actuality there is lots of separation going on anyway. Most trial dogs are competing at the level where they are competitive. if we laugh at Spinones then the AA guys should laugh at the AKC "short" tr...

I think for the smalller birds the 28 works well. Grouse, woodcock, quail often fall with just 2-3 pellets on target. Density of pattern is not as big an issue. Wild phez are a lot tougher. Have hunted with folks who use a 28ga. I consider it a great guage for the experienced wing shooter but a poor choice for the average hunter.
