I'd keep an eye out for a used A.Y.A. I've seen a few used ones in that range at Cabelas gun library. I’ve been looking at AYA’s on gun websites. Didn’t know anything about them. They are some nice looking guns! I’ve found a couple around $600. Do you own an AYA? I sold the one I did have to buy mo...

Classic SxS or O/U

I really want a classic Side x Side or Over-Under. Initially I wanted a 20 gauge but open to other gauges. Will be used for upland hunting (mainly pheasant) but also sharpies, ruffies, prairie chickens, huns and on occasion doves. I hunt a lot of MN public land so I need something that can handle no...

Check the drop at heel and comb. The older guns were chin mounted and not cheek mounted. Damascus? If steel barrels I still wouldnt run steel loads through it. Bismuth or Hevi-shot, low brass. The Smith's have a tendency of cracking at the wrist/sidelock when using hot loads. Don't extend the chamb...

LC SMITH 2E 12 GAUGE

I've been saving $$$ for a new gun and looking for quite some time now. Came across an LC Smith 2E 12 gauge today. Gun is in good shape and seems like a fair price. My only concern. I mostly hunt MN public land, non-tox shot is needed, will this gun be okay with non-tox? The associate at the gun sho...

Here are a few photos from our 2013 MN Prairie Chicken season. First time hunting chickens. Cold, wet, windy weather but a great time. ND Sharpie Trip - 2013

I went on my first ND sharpie hunting trip. It was a ton of fun and I learned a lot. Poured rain opening morning. We did a lot of walking but managed to scratch down a few sharpies. Poor shooting, great dog work. Hunted over a flusher, a mutt (springer/gsp mix). Hunted all PLOTS land around the Gack...

Every breed has a breed standard, it's up to each breeder to abide by it... Or disregard it completely. But if someone wants a dog that is big like a pointer and runs like a pointer, get a pointer.
